Halloween

We recently had a pumpkin carving contest at work and our group's pumpkin won! Take a look at our pics.

We had such a good time doing it too.
I had a flood of ideas. It was like I was in elementary school all over again. I miss the days of doing dioramas, those were fun.

School

I have class tonight. I am taking a class called , "The Fundamentals of Supervision." It is a 200 level class, so it is not that challenging, but the information is new and interesting. Surprising the class does relate to Psychology, so I guess that is what keeps me going. Now that Brad is in school getting his Masters of Business Administration, I figured when he was done I might apply myself into a Masters program in Industrial Organizational Psychology.
According to this website, http://www.psichi.org/pubs/articles/article_106.asp "I/O psychology, in brief, is concerned with the scientific structuring of organizations and of work to improve the productivity and quality of life of people at work. For most of us, time at work accounts for a very large chunk of our lives. It made a lot of sense to me that somebody in psychology ought to be looking closely at this facet of life and its impact upon other life domains."
We'll see what happens, I am still about 2-3 years away from actually deciding what Masters degree I would like to get.
As for Brad, he is plugging along. There have been times when he gets tired and cranky, but I feed him and he's fine. :)
When you have time check out his blog at http://www.psichi.org/pubs/articles/article_106.asp
He is writing about his MBA experience and what he is learning. It is very interesting material, especially in this day and age.
Hope you enjoy.

There's a HAPPY neuron game?

This was a interesting article I found on Yahoo's main page. Apparently the "HAPPY neuron game" is helpful. I will let you know if it really helped me or not. Keep in mind this is off of a men's website.

What makes a man's brain different than a female's brain?

Anyways... thought you all might enjoy some brain exercise.

ENJOY!

I had some extra time to update the site. I hope you enjoy some of the pics I have posted of baby Alley. On the far right, we were playing with her and she was jumping for her toy.

Also, you would be surprised to know that within one week of my last posting, it has snowed about 3 inches total--ooohhh-- and it's cold out. I will post some snow pics soon. Hope all is well and I'll write again at the end of the week.

Family Life

This blog is of Victoria and Brad's life here in Alaska. You can visit our website (hillwigs.blogspot.com) for our day to day activities news, and pictures. We may not post everyday's activities, but it will be updated monthly to keep everyone in the loop of how things are going here in Alaska.

As of October 7th, 2008 the leaves still haven't fallen to their inevitable descent and in the meantime the snow has fallen, covering Anchorage and the surrounding areas with its "cold" white blanket...so while the snow has been falling, we have been so ever fortunate to have spare time to watch some of the political debates (ie. local and nationwide). I have never actually fully engaged myself in watching them before and have come to realize that the political debate really can be quite an intriguing process. Anyways...I won't bore you with anymore political mumbo-jumbo. Hope you all enjoy and I will keep you up to date as the passing weeks fly by.
